OpenAI will offer free access to the ChatGPT Go plan to Indian users who sign up during a limited promotional period starting November 4, underscoring India’s growing importance to the company’s global expansion strategy.

The company announced the promotion without disclosing how long the offer will last. All the existing ChatGPT Go subscribers will also be eligible for the free 12-month plan, as stated by OpenAI.
Affordable Plan Across Asia
ChatGPT Go was launched as OpenAI’s most affordable paid subscription plan at less than $5 per month. The same was also released in 16 additional countries across Asia.
India- OpenAI’s 2nd Largest Market
Earlier, CEO Sam Altman stated that India is the second-largest market for OpenAI after the United States. Despite its immense popularity, the monetisation of paid plans has posed challenges. Although the app saw a rise of over 29 million downloads in 90 days leading up to August, it only generated $3.6 million in in-app purchases.
