Haryana is preparing to bring artificial intelligence (AI) and financial technology (FinTech) into government schools as part of a broader effort to equip students with future-ready skills. The move is aimed at strengthening digital education, expanding vocational learning and aligning school education with the changing demands of the job market.
The roadmap was reviewed by Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi during a meeting on the implementation of the Samagra Shiksha Scheme. Deputy Commissioners from all districts joined the review through video conferencing to assess the progress of ongoing education reforms and discuss the next phase of implementation.

During the meeting, Rastogi directed officials to speed up education reforms and ensure that students across the state have access to quality education, modern infrastructure and industry-orientated learning opportunities. He also asked district administrations to work towards achieving 100% student enrolment while improving learning outcomes in government schools.
Introducing AI & Fintech courses
The proposed introduction of AI and FinTech courses reflects Haryana’s focus on integrating emerging technologies into school education at an early stage. As industries increasingly adopt AI, automation, digital payments and financial technologies, the state aims to prepare students with practical knowledge and digital skills before they enter the workforce.
Principal Secretary, School Education, Vijay Singh Dahiya, said the state has prepared an ambitious plan to expand vocational education to 306 additional government schools during the first phase of implementation.
With this expansion, vocational education coverage is expected to increase from 31% to nearly 60% of secondary school students during the 2026-27 academic session. The state’s long-term objective is to extend vocational education to every government secondary and senior secondary school in Haryana.

Dahiya said the Education Department is planning to introduce AI and FinTech as new vocational subjects alongside the existing 15 vocational sectors. The proposed curriculum is expected to give students early exposure to technologies that are reshaping industries such as banking, manufacturing, healthcare, retail and information technology.
The expansion is being carried out under the Samagra Shiksha Scheme, the Centre’s integrated school education programme that supports states in improving access to quality education, teacher training, digital learning infrastructure and vocational education. The initiative also aligns with the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which encourages experiential learning, skill development and multidisciplinary education from the school level.
By introducing AI and FinTech in government schools, Haryana joins a growing number of Indian states that are embedding emerging technologies into school curricula. The initiative is expected to help bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry requirements while improving students’ employability in a technology-driven economy.
