Sahasra Electronic Solutions, an electronic system design and manufacturing (ESDM) company, has added Micro SD cards to its production line. The new range complements its existing RFID and eSIM chips. The products are being exported to Europe through a partnership with the German electronics brand HAMA GmbH & Co KG.
The collaboration was announced on the sidelines of the India Mobile Congress 2025, where the company outlined its plan to grow its global footprint in memory packaging and semiconductor exports.

Partnership With HAMA GmbH
Through its semiconductor division, Sahasra will supply Micro SD cards and USB thumb drives to Europe under the “Made-in-India” label. The products have completed validation in Germany and will soon be available across European markets.

‘The company’s “Make-in-India” approach involves both local manufacturing and international export. Our aim is to include more India-made products in our global catalogue’,

stated HAMA’s India head, Priyam Agrawal

Strengthening India’s Manufacturing Base
Amrit Manwani, Chairman and Managing Director of Sahasra Group, called this export milestone the company’s first shipment of packaged memory devices from its Bhiwadi semiconductor plant. He said it reflects India’s growing technical proficiency in semiconductor packaging and memory solution manufacturing.
Sahasra Group operates across several verticals in electronics, including PCB fabrication, EMS services, IT hardware, smart LED lighting, and RFID solutions. It already exports to more than 20 countries.

How will this impact the ecosystem?
Majority of the consumer electronics such as feature phones, CCTV cameras, hybrid set-top boxes require micro-SD cards to function. Sahasra is entering a segment long-dominated by established global brands. By exporting them, they will strengthen the supply chain capability in memory and storage devices that have since now been dependant on imports.

Policy Support and Industry Confidence
According to Nimrod Kumar, Director of Industrial Promotion (Electronics and Hardware Manufacturing) at MeitY, the development showcases the progress made under India’s electronics manufacturing initiatives. He said partnerships like these point to the country’s growing stature as a trusted global sourcing hub.
The move also reflects the government’s policy focus on building a robust semiconductor packaging ecosystem that can cater to both domestic and global technology markets.
